I would like to tell you a little bit about me, where I am from, what I am doing here, what my goals are and what my blog is going to be about.
So I would like to start with the town I grew up in.
I grew up in a town called Klagenfurt. It’s actually a city but since I traveld the last two years, I don’t really consider it as a city anymore. Klagenfurt is located in the south of Austria. I would describe it as beautiful, clean, small, full of nature and with a lot of history. I guess I had a great time growing up there.
When I was 6 years old I walked 15 minutes to my elementary school every day by myself. Americans would look at me like I am crazy but that’s how it was. It was a very very safe little town and mostly it still is. I think I had a great childhood with many friends and a lot of fun. We also have a big lake there which makes the summer really awesome every year.
Yes there are some lifeguards running around but they don’t care. You can do whatever you want and it doesn’t matter how old you are. You can swim how far as you want, there are slides, you can jump in the water, you can smoke, you can drink, you can have fun in every possible way. We don’t have a lot of rules there compared to America.
I still need to figure out what my blog is really going to be about and yes maybe you will read a lot about comparisons to Austria and America but for me it is important that people know that there are so many differences in the world and sometimes it can be interesting or life changing to learn about it. I have been living in the United States for over two years now and I have seen and experienced a lot. I also see my home country very different now and I would like to share every thought, every concern, every experience and everything else which comes through my mind and which I think can help or interest you.
I am going to tell you a lot about living in New York City and about all the travel adventures I have made so far. I think my life became really interesting in the last years and I would like to share that with you.
